Change in Street Parking Signs on November 1
The Verdun Borough wishes to remind residents that starting November 1, and until March 31, they must obey the parking restrictions marked at the bottom of the parking signs. This will allow public works crews to more efficiently carry out maintenance on public roadways, such as the removal of leaves, snow clearance, spreading abrasives, de-icing or any other similar operations.
Please take note that in some areas, an innovative telephone system linked to traffic signals allows drivers to park their vehicles during no-parking hours if no work has been planned by the Borough. By calling the phone number marked in red at the bottom of the signs, you will find out whether you can park your vehicle or whether you must obey the no-parking rules. Every day after 5 p.m., the telephone system will let you know whether or not you can park your vehicle on the street the next day.
Two phone numbers to keep handy: 514 765-7222 and 514 765-7111
For most streets in the Borough, the telephone number to phone in order to find out whether the no-parking regulations have been lifted is: 514 765-7222. However, for the following streets, Champlain, Bannantyne, De Verdun, LaSalle, Dupuis, Wellington (between May and LaSalle), Hickson (between Évangéline and Bannantyne) and De l’Église (between De Verdun and Évangéline), the telephone number is: 514 765-7111.
Exceptions
If "Sauf avis contraire" ("unless otherwise specified") is not marked on the parking signs on your street, along with a telephone number, you must obey the parking restrictions, as indicated, at all times.
For certain streets, until November 16, the no-parking regulations have been temporarily suspended due to roadwork. Further information on current worksites may be found on the Borough's website (ville.montreal.qc.ca/verdun), under Info-Construction.
