Bus line 21 begins service August 31
Beginning the 31st of August, a new bus line will be introduced to take commuters between LaSalle metro station and the island. The new line 21 will go in one direction (north to south) and will only operate during morning rush hour.
Verdun Borough Mayor Claude Trudel announced that this new bus line will benefit those who work in L’Île-des-Sœurs but live elsewhere. It offers quick transportation to employees of numerous companies in Place du Commerce as well as employees of Bell who need to make a connection from LaSalle metro.
Bell employees living on Verdun’s mainland or in the south west region no longer need to catch line 480 in downtown Montreal to go to the island. This represents a major advantage as well for employees working in Place du Commerce because it means they no longer have to pass through the southern tip of the island to reach their destination which is what they’re doing presently with line 12.
The new service will be available on the 31st of August from Monday to Friday at 30-minute intervals but only during morning rush hour. The busses will leave from LaSalle metro station and head for L’Île-des-Sœurs. For going in the opposite direction and outside morning rush hour, commuters can continue using line 12.
