Beautification Committee Photo Contest
Now in its seventh successful year, the Beautification Committee and Verdun Borough photo contest invites Verdun amateur photographers to combine their passion for photography with the pleasure of capturing images of the Verdun landscape. The registration period begins April 27. The contest entry deadline is August 2. There is a maximum of one contest entry per theme, per contest entrant.
The 2009 edition features three new inspiring themes: the Verdun waterfront, Verdun street cats and alley cats and Verdun staircases. In each of these categories, the photo must feature an element that is identifiable with Verdun. The contest entrant must identify the location featured on the 4” X 6” photo (approx 10 X 15 cm). A separate and duly completed contest entry form must be included with each photo. Complete rules and regulations, as well as the contest entry form, are available at Centre communautaire Marcel-Giroux (4501, rue Bannantyne, 514 765-7150) and at Centre communautaire Elgar (260, rue Elgar, 514 765-7270). The panel of judges will be made up of professional and amateur photographers.
Next fall, an exhibition featuring works made by finalists and winners will be presented at Verdun’s Borough Hall and at Centre communautaire Elgar. With its popular photo contest, the Beautification Committee is offering residents another creative project where one may pay tribute to the beauty of our environment. A chance not to be missed.
