On Tuesday, March 10, the executives of Masterpiece launched their new residential complex located on the southern tip of L'Île-des-Soeurs. Invitees caught a glimpse of the complex and learned about the level of quality of services to be offered to future occupants of this splendid building.
The distinctive facilities of the residence can only be equalled by the dedication of each staff member. The president of Masterpiece, Tim Garforth-Bles, made it a point to personally select employees who shared his values. To him kindness, friendliness, and courtesy are essential qualities of the Masterpiece de Symphonia team. It is in fact the business philosophy of the company; it runs and operates several deluxe properties in Quebec and in Alberta.
The first impression one gets on the first visit is the feeling of being in a five-star rated vacation resort club: rooms are luxurious apartment units and the “everything included” package exceeds expectations. Residents will live in either one or two bedroom units with dimensions varying from 620 and 1,400 square feet. Each of the 319 units is equipped with a kitchenette, a living room and an immense bathroom complete with individual controls for air conditioning and heating. Each suite has an electric fireplace, a refrigerator and a flat-screen TV. The units have windows that can be opened and each unit has a balcony overlooking the river or the nearby golf course. The latest technological advancements in sound proofing and fire protection were integrated into the design of the building.
Residents can enjoy the gastronomic meals prepared by executive chef John Currie who used to work for the St. James Club. They can enjoy their meals at the elegant dining room, Le Papillon Royal, the Augusta bistro, or one of the numerous terraces. Occupants can request a meal at any time between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm, or choose to relax at the Prince William pub. Here’s an interesting piece of information: residents will have a wide choice of wines to choose from at SAQ prices. Private rooms are also available on each floor of the building.
A partial list of activities included in the optional package consists of the gym, bowling, tennis, billiards, golf simulators, movie house, interior swimming pool and whirlpools. A store right in the premises is of course available, as well as a beauty and aesthetic salon, a spa and library (just to name a few).
And like in large hotels, residents will benefit from the service of a concierge 24 hours a day. Transportation going downtown and to the L'Île-des-Soeurs shopping centre will also be offered.
And to demonstrate their appreciation, the management of Masterpiece will offer all of its clients a free yearly cruise on the Holland America cruise line. They can choose between a tropical paradise like Mexico or the Antilles, or else the wild and natural beauty of Alaska or the Atlantic Coast.
In consulting the list of services offered by Masterpiece de Symphonia, one will realise that this 319-building apartment was developed also for clients with particular needs regarding their health care. This factor was definitely not overlooked and residents have the assurance that a graduate nurse will be available day and night round the clock.
This “tour” provides only an overview of the panoply of services and facilities that Masterpiece de Symphonia has in store for its residents. Almost all are included in the monthly fee; it is amazing that such services are readily accessible to occupants. For more details, visit
