Vittoria Tassone: family and real estate!
December’s Personality of the Month as chosen by the Verdun Local Development Foundation is Vittoria Tassone, president and real estate broker for Century 21 Action and Century 21 Altitude. Mrs. Tassone is the perfect example of a woman who knows how to face great social and professional challenges without neglecting her role as wife and mother.
Without ever jeopardising her commitments to clients, she always manages to spend time with her two daughters - Sarah and Léa – helping them with their studies, social life and different projects. Add to that the fact that her husband, Claude Daigle, is a pilot with Air Transat and by force of duty, travels frequently out of the country. These challenges do not prevent Vittoria from devoting a lot of energy to her humanitarian activities which she feels strongly about and to also engage in her recreational activities. She is a member of a choral group, sits in the Board of Directors of the Montreal Philharmonic Orchestra of Nouveau Monde, and still finds the time to keep in shape by practicing karaté, swimming, hockey, ski and physical training. Last year, she was the producer of a concert with soprano Maria Knapik, tenor Steeve Michaud and baritone Marc Boucher backed up by a choir of 150 artists, to raise funds for the organisation, Alphabétisation du Québec (Quebec Literacy) and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. The concert attracted 800 people who all converged at the Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs Church in Verdun and helped to raise funds for the organisation. She achieved that while she was opening several offices of Century 21. Gotta do what you gotta do, as they say!
Vittoria’s two daughters finished their primary schooling in the Île-des-Sœurs elementary school and now study at Collège Sainte-Anne in Lachine. Her youngest daughter, Lea is a clarinettist in a group who raise funds for the Fondation du Collège de Montréal. And it should come as no surprise that her eldest daughter, Sarah, who is now 16 years old, boarded a plane on January 16 to head for Guatemala for a Défi Monde project. With other students of her school, she will participate in community work with young students from this area before travelling to Seville, in Spain, for a similar humanitarian activity.
A great passion!
Vittoria Tassone has always been excited about real estate. She had just given birth to Sarah, when she graduated from her real estate course and has never stopped upgrading her skills in this industry; today, she uses her competence and knowledge to support her team members. After receiving her real estate licence, she went ahead and obtained the CRES (Certified Real Estate Specialist) in 1998 to be bestowed the enviable title of “Fellow” in the Canadian Real Estate Institute in 1999.
From 1999 to 2004, Vittoria Tassone worked for herself by establishing her own company, Services immobiliers Vittoria Tassone in L'Île-des-Sœurs. In 2004, she was franchised by Century 21 Action in Verdun and L'Île-des-Sœurs with five real estate agents. In 2004, she opened an office in Cap Rouge (Quebec city) and in 2008, she took over the entire territory of Estrie, a group of 40 agents working under the Century 21 banner.
Last year, Vittoria Tassone was conferred the “Community services Award” among real estate agents with “Fellow” status across Canada. She also received recognition as “Grand Centurion Century 21” for having sold the most number of properties in Quebec. And despite all that, she still has time to serve in the discipline committee of the Quebec Association of Agents and Real Estate Brokers which has 15,000 members.
Vittoria does not shy away from challenges but people musn’t think of her as running in all directions at any one time. She knows how to organise her tine and plans her hours and days so that she attains her objectives. She maximises the use of new technologies in the communications and IT sector; she considers them as indispensable tools.
Vittoria Tassone considers herself a very determined woman, but she confirms that she does say NO when necessary. However, those who have requested her help and generosity have yet to hear her say it.
