Mechanic shop : Borough abandons new zoning project

Mayor Trudel gave his comments on this decision following a question raised by a resident during the December 2 Council meeting. The Council withdrew draft regulation 1700-64 from its agenda as a result of objections by several residents in the previous Council meeting. The Council last week was however preparing an amended regulation which turned out to be a useless effort because the building owner withdrew his request.

Mr. Trudel invited residents to suggest alternative areas to Council members where a mechanic shop could be installed in L'Île-des-Sœurs. When the Esso station closes for business on December 15, there will only be one - car dealer Gravel – who will be providing repair and maintenance services in the district.
