PV) Thierry St-Cyr confirmed that the plan of the Bloc Québécois contains efficient measures to fight crime and to distance crime offenders from the rest of society with a view to reinforcing prevention and to give the public peace of mind, and reduce the crime rate.

He added that the Bloc is recommending various measures to make the work of police forces and other workers more efficient. “To diminish the attractiveness of criminal groups and to confront them more effectively, the Bloc Québécois is proposing that the Criminal Code be modified in such a way that wearing any symbol, sign or any other form of representation identifying people as members of a criminal organisation be illegal”, the Bloc Québécois candidate for Jeanne-Le Ber explained.
