Multipurpose pathway on L’Île-des-Soeurs
Work Will Cause Partial Obstruction of Lanes
Work along the future golf course in the L’Île-des-Sœurs neighbourhood will limit access to the multipurpose pathway over the next few days.
This work is required to install masts that will be used to support the safety nets. In fact, these safety nets, provided for in the development specifications, will prevent any golf balls deviating from their path from causing injuries to people travelling along the pathway in this area. To install the masts—which are an impressive 25 metres high—the contractor will have to place pieces of equipment on part of the pathway.
Over the next few days, the multipurpose pathway will therefore be accessible only over part of its width. In fact, it might even be completely closed during certain periods of time in order to carry out the excavation work and pour the concrete for the foundations that will be used to install the masts, or to move the equipment, or to protect users if their safety is at risk. Signs will be posted to identify the area affected by the work. If all goes well, the work should be completed during the week of July 21.
The Borough is encouraging users to travel carefully along this pathway and thanks them for their cooperation.
