Don't you love a guy who wears his heart on his goalie mask?

Canadiens/Bulldogs goalie Marc Denis wears his pride all over his face and his mask. The former 1st round draft pick of Colorado out of Chicoutimi junior hockey has a tribute to the 100th Season on a new paint job for his goalie mask he'll wear in his first start for the Canadiens against the Sabres in the Hockeyville game.

Denis' wife (a Chicoutimi native he met as a junior) and two boys Tom and Olivier (6&4) will be cheering him on.

So will 1200 fans who'll pack 6 wooden bench rows at the Benoit Levesque Arena tonight in Roberval, the winner of the national contest to host the Habs and Sabres.

Are the Denis boys future goalie material? "They're much smarter than that," laughs Denis, still dripping from his morning workout. "One starts hockey next week, the other will get in a skating program."

Denis' mask features portraits of Canadiens goaltending legends going back to the Chicoutimi Cucumber George Vezina to Jacques Plante and Ken Dryden. It also features Patrick Roy (a boyhood idol and his teammate with the Avalanche from 96-2000).

"I wanted to pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of the team I loved as a youngster and arguably the great franchise in the history of pro sports."

AMEN!

The Canadiens 4 logos spanning the decades grace the top of the mask. Unfortunately for Marc, a Bulldog will have to fit in barring injury to either Carey Price or Jaroslav Halak. The former backup to Patrick would love to be at the Bell Centre November 22nd for the retirement of jersey #33, but #38 will be toiling with Hamilton in the AHL.

Less than 24 hours after delivering a smashmouth win over the Edmonton Eskimos with his quick-step drop routine, Anthony Calvillo happily delivered a major donation to Sun Youth along with the Grey Cup.

"Don't worry-- I didn't touch it," chuckles Calvillo. "I know its cursed that way. I only want to touch it in November." Back in 2003 when the Als faced the Eskimos, former allstar defensive tackle turned CJAD football analyst and blogger Ed Philion grabbed the Cup on display at team breakfast, saying he wanted to practise hoisting it! Alas the Als were cursed in successive battles for the hardware against Edmonton.

Listen out for Anthony and Alexia in their first interview together next Monday on the Andrew Carter Morning Show, to tell you how you can join the CJAD TOUCHDOWN CLUB in support of the Calvillo Family Room, through the Cedars Cancer Institute of the MUHC.
