Blood drive at the Island Fire Station
A blood drive will be taking place at the L'Ile-des-Soeurs Fire Station on Monday, August 20, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In collaboration with Héma-Québec, the blood drive hopes to attract a minimum of 75 donors this year. Last year, only 57 people came out to give blood. In order to raise awareness, posters have been placed around the Island in various business establishments and a banner will soon be seen, advertising the event.
Blood donors can simply show up at the Fire Station to give blood. It's the third year in a row that firefighters are organizing this blood drive, at 911 René-Levesque boulevard. For more information, you can call 514-280-7867. If you're pressed for time, but still want to do your part, you can make an appointment, by calling 514-832-5000, ext. 525.
A person needs blood every 80 seconds and a simple blood donation can save up to four lives. On August 20, stop by the Fire Station and save a life!
